For more than half a century, Mitchell College has proudly fielded intercollegiate teams with an equal emphasis on men's and women's athletics.

While Mitchell may be a small school, sports have always been big, because we believe your overall educational experience is enhanced through activities outside the classroom. The tradition of the student-athlete is not only alive, but thriving at Mitchell.

Named in honor of the Pequots, the native American tribe whose members still live in the area, the College's intercollegiate teams have enjoyed phenomenal successes over the years. These include:

• National championships in two sports
• New England regional championships in just about every sport in which Mitchell competes.
• A number of Mitchell alumni have also made All-American honors and have gone on to play Division I at other competitive four-year programs.
