First Year Experience

To help first year students adjust to the intellectual and personal challenges of higher education, all first year students participate in a special course entitled First Year Seminar (FS 101). The course engenders a sense of community and presents the opportunity to learn about the nature and expectations of higher education, the resources of Mitchell College, and to explore their own identity while developing the skills and understandings required to engage in intellectual pursuits. FS 101 is required for graduation. It is a one-semester course meeting once per week throughout the regular semester. A grade of C- or better is required to avoid having to repeat the course.
